As prospective students of the college, you must know the background & history of the college. Satyawati College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi was established in 1972. It has been named after a great freedom fighter "Sister Satyawati" who worked in close association with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jay Prakash Narayan and Sarojini Naidu. She worked tirelessly till her death at an early age of 39 years, for uprooting poverty, ignorance and communalism. She was named Satyawati by Mahatma Gandhi, for her zeal and commitment. Satyawati Devi, was an ardent freedom fighter from Delhi, who was instrumental in drawing a large number of women from their homes into the ''Civil Disobedience Movement''. She combined the zest for national liberation with the cause of freedom for women. Her inspiring speeches and acts of defiance during the time of freedom struggle embody the spirit of the College. Satyawati College, which is run by the Delhi Government, is one of the prominent & prestigious, off-campus colleges of the University of Delhi. The College has grown over the years and has become a mature adult with ten Departments and several courses. Apart from brilliant academic distinctions, our students have also excelled in extra-curricular activities. The College maintains an inclusive atmosphere for students from diverse socio-economic, cultural and regional background and provides them with the space to interact with each other. Spread over ten acres of land, the College houses well equipped classrooms, a rich library, and also provides facilities of a seminar room, computer room, canteen, bank, a photocopier, etc. The College offers campus wide Wi-Fi to the students and faculty. It also has one of the finest auditoriums of Delhi University. Student societies like Arts and Culture, Debating, Dramatics, Film and Photography, NSS, NCC, FCC, North East Society, along with individual department based Societies contribute to making the College a lively, dynamic space for our students. Through the activities the College tries to facilitate creative and critical thinking among the students. A dedicated faculty of teachers works actively towards a holistic development of students so as to enable them to carve out a niche for themselves in their chosen fields.

The College is named after a great freedom fighter, Behen (Sister) Satyawati, grand-daughter of Swami Shradhanand, who worked in close association with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Jai Prakash Narain and Sarojini Naidu. She worked tirelessly till her death for uprooting poverty, ignorance and communalism. She was named Toofani Behen (Stormy Sister) by Mahatma Gandhi for her zeal and commitment.
The College is centrally located in Ashok Vihar, North Delhi and has a sprawling campus spread over an area of 10 acres. It is a co-educational institution and attracts students from all strata of the society. The College is proud to have the magnificent, state of the art 'Satya Auditorium', one of the best in the University of Delhi. It is surely going to greatly enhance the activities in the spheres of academics, arts and add to co-curricular activities. In order to help the students to excel their sports capabilities, College has a full-fledged Sports Department situated in a separate block. It also takes care of the special training needs of the persons with disabilities.
AIPS is an authorised information centre of Bharti Vidhyapeeth and authorised study centre of SHIATS Deemed University. AIPS is more of a "Learning insitution" than a mere "Technical Institution". What is laid in the courses is a solid foundation that prepares the indivisual student to pursue academic or industrial carrer with rigor and innovation.
