The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi (Ambedkar University Delhi or AUD) is a public University with a multi campus, unitary structure with research, postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in the social sciences and the humanities. The Ambedkar University Delhi was established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through an Act of Legislature in 2007 and was notified in July 2008. Mandated to focus on research and teaching in the social sciences and humanities and guided by Dr Ambedkar's vision of bridging equality and social justice with excellence, AUD considers it to be its mission to create sustainable and effective linkages between access to and success in higher education. AUD is committed to creating an institutional culture characterized by humanism, non-hierarchical and collegial environment, teamwork and nuturance of creativity.
Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a state university established by the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi through 2007's Act of Legislature, and was notified in July 2008. The degrees awarded by Ambedkar University Delhi are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. AUD primarily is devoted to Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences, and AUD currently offers various Undergraduate (BA) and Postgraduate (MA/MBA) programmes.
The 3 acre AUD campus situated in the core of Delhi (10 mins walk from the Kashmere Gate metro station) has good infrastructure i.e. well-stocked libraries, reading rooms, online journals and computer labs. There are hostels for both boys and girls. The classroms have audio-visual equipments and the campus is completely wi-fi enabled. AUD's permanent campuses are being planned in Dheerpur and Rohini.
