B.Arch Admission in Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune

The Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, on the advice of UGC, declared Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune as deemed-to-be university comprising of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune vide its notification dated 11th January, 2003. Later on, the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development included three more institutions namely Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital, Pimpri, Pune, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Nursing, Pimpri, Pune and Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pimpri Pune (which were established in the year 2000) under the ambit of the deemed-to-be-university vide its notification dated 20th September, 2006.

The Vidyapeeth has entered into collaborations with large number of national and international institutions / industries for its academic growth and development as well as for its contribution towards national development in health care and professional education. It has enhanced the quality of teaching-learning process, research activities and upgradation of facilities and services, contributed for the enhancement of quality of services and publications in leading national and international journals and have helped in receiving financial assistance for collaborative research projects. The MoUs provide opportunities for clinical trials including that of WHO; Industry and Institute sponsored projects; Training and hands-on experience to students; Faculty and Student Exchange; Webinars, Video-conferencing and sharing of resources. Biotechnology Institute has research-based collaborations with the University of Skövde, Sweden in the field of environment and health protection. The collaborative research projects were funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) which gave scope for meaningful interactions between the counterparts that would lead to technology development. This collaboration has resulted in generation of five national patents.

Linnaeus-Palme teachers’ exchange program between DPU and University of Skövde, has been funded by the Swedish Council of Higher Education, under which two faculty members from DPU (Biotechnology Institute) visited University of Skövde, Sweden for a duration of one month and two teachers, Dr. Abul Mandal and Dr. Helena Enroth from University of Skövde visited the Biotechnology Institute during 2017-18. Also, under a bilateral agreement signed between DPU and University of Skövde, Sweden, four students of M.Tech Biotechnology have completed their one year project at Sweden during 2016-17 and four more students of M. Tech Biotechnology of present batch are performing their project dissertation at Karolinska Institute (popular for conferring the Noble Prize) and Lund University, Sweden for 2017-18.

DY PATIL UNIVERSITY understands Architecture as the discipline responsible for the design of the built environment. While studying at ADYPU, you will acquire the necessary knowledge and understanding of how buildings are made and, in the pursuit of this, acquire skills of observation, analysis, creative thinking and design. The School of Architecture offers B.Arch. program of five years and is aimed to establish a center of excellence for architecture education. It facilitates multidisciplinary research to deal with the complexities of human settlements as a whole. The School has developed a network of top architects and designers and has involved them in teaching and guiding. It has a vision to train learners who should be sensitive towards expectations of people and responsive towards nature, environment, society and nation, coupled with ethics and human values. Architecture is an amalgamation of the aesthetic spaces and the technical skills in context to the environmental settings. There is a growing respect for architecture as one of the top academic disciplines, a design practice, and a practical business closely connected with the largest segment of investment in the economy. Architects are called upon to think of concepts, plans and accomplish construction tasks and take other decisions related to setting up a physical environment in a diversity of surroundings.

The creation of Architectural propositions – as modest as a dwelling or as grand and complex as a city scale intervention – is, for the architect, a matter of neither formula nor chance, but of reflection, negotiation and adaptation to material, social and cultural contexts. Architecture therefore is an interdisciplinary learning of engineering, design, construction, urban planning, environmental science, sociology and history. The theme, which underpins our approach to architectural education, is that everything you do will be a process of enquiry and as such enables you to discover and develop your own process of design and position within architecture. Through a carefully-designed curriculum, School of Architecture will introduce you to all these disciplines and reveal how they are complicit to the central discipline of Architecture. We consider Architectural Design as a unique mode of thought and practice, combining the skills of logical analysis, critical judgment and creativity that produce buildings.

While embarking on the task to define and design the course structure for this unique program, we decided to use internationally accepted benchmark. We follow National Architectural Accrediting Board to teach and develop the research, evaluative and critical thinking skills necessary for professional practice and lifelong learning.

Architect Firms, Consultancy companies, Universities, Construction companies etc. readily employ architects for variety of work ranging from designing to. After completing graduation, you can go for the higher studies. You can pursue Master degree or further studies in architecture field. You can also work as a lecturer in various Institutions. You can also work with an architectural firm or under the supervision of a well-established architect.
Architects have the entrepreneurial instinct and can also establish their own firm after gaining required experience. Government Organizations also offer jobs to the B.Arch Candidates such as Archaeological Department, National Building Organization, Ministry of Defense, Departments of Railways, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, Public Works Department, etc.
