The college was established with a mission: “Vratam Smakam Sakal Janhitam” to say “Welfare of Everyone and Happiness for All” to inculcate qualities in the students from the socially under privileged and deprived rural segment for generating society such as industries, Research and Development, leaders and commercial enterprises.

Our philosophy of education has always been meeting the needs of the individual Student. Students acquire skills and knowledge easily if we can make the surrounding stimulating and purposeful. In the 21st century, the Digital Revolution affects us all. Quite simply, it is changing everything: a brilliant barrage of information, entertainment, companionship and education is speedily available.

Our goal at ESDV is to provide an enriching, engaging, and challenging curriculum that will prepare students for success while at ESDV and for the years that follow. We believe that students, parents and teachers all play a vital role in helping students reach their greatest potential. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many resources available to them- their teachers, the library, the computer labs, and the smart classes.

To channelize the creative aspect of the student the college has come up with the college magazine. This is not just a means for a college to communicate its thought but it also highlights the success and achievement of its pursuits. It gives an insight to ones thought and creativity through varied expressions.The year 2015-16 was celebrated by the College as its Silver Jubilee Year. The college has done some path breaking work in making education accessible to the minorities and weaker sections of society. Thus today at 25 years the College stands proudly amongst the leading educational institutes of Pune.
