In June 1865 Mr. Theodore Cooke, M.A , who held that appointment for 28 years was appointed Principal. The foundation stone of the new college was laid by His Excellency the Governor, Sir Bartle Frere, on the 5th August 1865. College was affiliated to University of Bombay in 1866. In 1868 the College moved to the New Buildings. The college was divided into three departments for matriculated and unmatriculated students.

Jaihind Polytechnic has been to the pioneering educational institute in Pune rural giving technical education at par to the leading and on renowned institutions under Maharshtra Board of technical as Education. The initial phases was quite, tough & testing. Now it has strength and the hold on quality. We are first obtain, ISO 9001:2008 QMS certification. In 2010, JCEI established “Jaihind College of Engineering” with UG courses in Engineering which are affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. Post Graduate courses are also available for higher technical education. Institute has obtained ISO 9001:2015 QMS and ISO 14001:2004 EMS certification. Institute has provided quality education to its students and some of the students obtained University Rank also. In GO-KART event, institute has achieved first rank in all levels.

Since establishment both institutes have scaled new heights in academics. The impetus it has given to technical education in rural area is gaining its fruits as many students from poor, common, farming families have made their career and established themselves as much sought after professionals.
