Admission under management quota in New Horizon College of Engineering, The major objective of our library is to provide authentic information to the student at any given point of time. The library is spread over two floors with 605 seating capacity, state of art digital library, Adobe Digital Centre of Excellence, ID-Card Centre, Video Conference Room, Online class room with recording facility, Students Discussion Rooms, Faculty Discussion Room, and Books & Stationery shops are available in the Ground Floor and Stack Area, Reference Section, Circulation Counter, OPAC Search, Journals/Magazines and Newspaper Sections are made available at the Lower Level of the library building. The Library holds a hybrid collection of printed as well as electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, audio-visuals, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals, reports, course materials, previous years question papers, bound volumes, project reports, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. Currently the library holds over 46036 volumes, 68 print journals, provides access to electronic resources, newspapers and business magazines, and 4153 multimedia resources, and also have institutional membership of ISTE, CSI, DELNET, IETE, and IEI.
New Horizon Hostels have been constructed to provide a safe and congenial atmosphere for the students. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls on campus. COMEDK is option for NON Karnataka Students to enter into Engineering and Medical colleges in Karnataka. Whereas KCET is solely for locals who have atleast 7 years study certificate in karnataka. Main difference is the cost, KCET seats in Govt and Govt.Aided Engg. colleges like UVCE , BMSCE will be around 18k, whereas in private Engg colleges will be around 50k per annum.
Meanwhile in COMEDK, all colleges min will be 1.5k per annum. KCET will have more number of students writing it compared to COMEDK. In KCET, 50% marks of PCM / PCB for Engg / Medical is considered from 12th board exam and 50% from KCET paper. Whereas, COMEDK no importance to 12th board exam marks for computing ranks. Top 10,000 ranks will be able to make it to ok colleges and courses, then onwards it becomes difficult to get a decent college/course.
In KCET atleast 70% to be scored to get below 10,000 rank and students who score above 90% in state board exam just are able to score around 50 to 60% in KCET, as extensive preparation is required for it. Whereas COMEDK ranking is purely done based on performance in entrance. In COMEDK physics and chemistry exam will be in a single paper.
The COMEDK exam centres are few in Bangalore and are located in distant engineering colleges generally, compared to KCET which has extensive number of colleges for writing the exam. The 30 days time generally available between end of 12th board exams and these entrance exams plays a very crucial role to crack these.
From 11th standard syllabus 18 to 20 marks questions come in COMEDK and in KCET out of the 60 marks. As of now, no negative marking happens,
