Sri Sai Ram Medical College for Siddha, Ayurveda & Homoeopathy, Chennai was established in the year of 2001 by MJF. Ln.Leo Muthu, Chairman of Sapthagiri Educational Trust which is a non-profitable and non minority institution. The College is functioning at its permanent building at Sai Leo Nagar. A Sprawling campus of 200 acres near to the well known tourist attraction "Kishkinta". The college buildings are architecturally designed and built as per the CCIM and CCH norm

Imbedded with the message of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, he ventured into the realm of providing Quality Education to both urban and rural students from India and other neighbouring countries. He has to his credit various other enterprises such as real estate, industry and various educational institutions. The Sri Sai Ram Engineering College at Chennai, Sai Matriculation higher Secondary School at Madipakkam and Sri Sai Ram Polytechnic College at Sai Leo Nagar to provide a good training for diploma engineering, Further more the Sai Ram Institute of Management Studies and Computer Science a unit of Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, was established in 1997 and it offers the MBA and MCA P.G. Programmes. Besides, he has also ventured into the Teacher Training Courses. He started Sri Sai Ram T.T.I. at Pondicherry, Sai Jothi T.T.I. at Madurai, Sai Krubha T.T.I. at pammal, Chennai and Sri Sai Ram Chennai T.T.I. at Anakaputhur, Chennai in the year 2005.

He was also instrumental in starting "The Academy for the Blind" and "Home for the Aged" under the community service programmes of the Lions Club. Sri Sai Ram Medical College is developing into a reputed Medical Institution, imparting top QUALITY MEDICAL EDUCATION and preparing the young generation of student with SPIRIT OF SERVICE TO SOCIETY. The colleges are affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai and approved by the CCIM / CCH / Ayush for Indian System of Medicine, New Delhi.

A Library is the lifeblood of an academic institution. Our institution encourages all staff members to make best use of the library that has been carefully built up since the inception of the college. The library is housed in a spacious area of 4000 sq ft. with reference section, magazine section and stack area. Presently it stacks more than 12000 books and reference volumes for lending to faculty and students. The library subscribes to more than 60 specialized journals, over one third of them being international. Constant addition of titles and volumes in all fields of medicine a regular feature of the library. Every effort has been made to obtain all titles recommended by the faculty. Newspapers, weekly and fortnightly magazines of repute are subscribed to enable students to keep abreast of day-to-day trends. The books authored by the faculty of our college are kept in the library for benefit of the students.

The college is easily accessible from Tambaram Railway Station by the state operated transport buses. In addition the college owns a fleet of 10 buses and these buses operate in more than 10 different routes starting from different points in Chennai city. Our booming transport facilities ensure that our students and staff members are able to attend the college on time.
